This guide walks you through getting a Jotform API key, connecting it to Zaplane, and adding a Jotform action to your workflow so that whenever your trigger runs, Zaplane can automatically create a new Jotform form. Make sure your workflow already has a trigger set up before starting these steps.
Part 1: Get a Jotform API Key
Step 1: Open Your Jotform Account Settings
In Jotform, click your profile icon in the top-right corner, then select Settings.

Step 2: Create an API Key
On the Settings page, go to API. Set the permission to Full Access, then click Create New Key.

Part 2: Create the Connection in Zaplane
Step 3: Go to Connections
In Zaplane, go to Connections, then click Create credential.

Step 4: Select the Jotform App
From the app list, select Jotform.

Step 5: Save the Connection
Paste your API Key from Part 1, then click Save Connection.

Part 3: Add the Jotform Action to Your Workflow
Step 6: Select the App
In your workflow, add a new action, click Apps to browse available apps, then search for and select Jotform from the list.

Step 7: Choose the Action Type and Connection
Select Create Form as the Action Type, then choose the Jotform connection you created in Part 2 from Select Connection. Click Continue.

Step 8: Configure the Action
On the Configure tab, enter the Form Title, then add your Questions — for each one, fill in the Label, Slug, and Type, and set the Order if needed. Click Add Row for each additional question. Click Continue when done.

Step 9: Test the Action
On the Test tab, click Test Action to run the action with sample data. You’ll see the Input and Output for the run, including the new form’s ID and URL. Once you’re satisfied, click Save.

Step 10: Update and Activate the Workflow
Back on the workflow canvas, click Update to save your changes, and make sure the workflow status is set to Active. You can view execution results anytime from the Logs.

Done!
Your Zaplane workflow is now connected to Jotform. Every time the trigger runs, a new Jotform form will be automatically created.
