A step-by-step guide to triggering Zaplane workflows from Jotform submissions.
This guide walks you through connecting your Jotform account to Zaplane and adding a Jotform trigger to a workflow, so your workflow runs automatically whenever someone submits one of your Jotform forms. Let’s go through the process step by step.
Step 1: Get Your Jotform API Key
- Log in to Jotform, click your profile avatar in the top-right corner, then select Settings.

- In the settings sidebar, click API, then click Create New Key, set the permission to Full Access, and copy the generated key.

Step 2: Create a Jotform Connection in Zaplane
- Go to Zaplane > Connections, then click Create credential.

- Search for and select Jotform from the app list.

- Paste the API key you copied earlier into the API Key field, then click Save Connection.

Step 3: Create a Workflow
- Go to Zaplane > Workflows, then click Create Workflow.

Step 4: Add a Jotform Trigger
- Inside the workflow editor, click Select an app under the Trigger box, then choose Apps.

- Search for and select Jotform, then click Continue.

Step 5: Choose the Trigger Type and Connection
- On the Select tab, open the Trigger Type dropdown and choose Form Submitted.
- Open the Select Connection dropdown and choose the Jotform connection you created in Step 2, then click Continue. If you don’t have a connection yet, click Create New Connection to add one right here.

Step 6: Configure the Trigger
- On the Configure tab, select the Form you want to watch.
- Copy the Webhook Endpoint URL shown on this tab.
- Go to Jotform > Your Form > Settings > Integrations > Webhooks, paste the URL, and save it there. Then come back and click Continue in Zaplane.

Step 7: Test and Activate the Workflow
- On the Test tab, click Test Trigger to confirm it’s picking up the Jotform submission correctly, then click Save.

- Finally, toggle the workflow to Active and click Update to publish it.

You’re all set
Jotform is now connected to Zaplane. Your workflow will run automatically every time someone submits the selected form on your site.
